I was asked recently why I don’t use my own vocals much on my records anymore. Here was my simple answer: I found out my songs sound much better when I’m not the one singing them – ‘a man’s gotta know his limitations’. But seriously, the songs deserve much more than my vocal skills can deliver and it’s never been about me — it’s about the music and the message.
